East Tennessee Power Boat Club

Frequently asked questions

Q. I don’t know anyone

A. That is why we are here, to help folks get to know their fellow boaters. It is more fun to boat in a group.

Q. My boat is not a "go fast" can I still join?

A. While our club is aimed at the performance boater, we do not have any specific rules other than that the boat must be able to travel 50mph. Other than that, any type or brand of boat is ok.

Q. Is this a family friendly organization?

A. Yes, we are here for the entire family. We encourage an atmoshere at our gatherings and events where everyone can have a good time.

Q. I have never joined a club or entered a poker run before, do I belong here?

A. Absolutely, all of us at one time were new to these types of things. There are plenty of folks that are more than happy to lend a hand, or give advice when needed.

Q. Is my boat too small?

A. No, we do not have any size limit.

Q. Why the 50mph rule?

A. This is a rule we have had a tough time deciding on. After much thought, it was decided that for many of the events we will participate in, a boat will have to have an average cruise speed between 45 and 50 mph in order to really enjoy the event. It is not that we don’t want large cruisers in our club, but the fact that the events will not really be directed at that group of boaters.
